MEDIA SENSITIZATION WORKSHOP ON NUTRITION - 23rd NOVEMBER 2016

The team of AAH/FHF at the Media Sensitization Workshop at Baran, Rajasthan.

A Media Sensitization Workshop on nutrition was organized along with the development partners and the state government of Rajasthan at Baran on 23rd November, 2016.

Ms. Mousumi Gupta
Ms. Mousumi Gupta, HOD-Advocacy, briefed the participants about the objectives of the workshop and also about the role of the media in raising awareness about malnutrition.

The objectives of the workshop were to keep regional media houses updated on good practices of CMAM program, existing government policies and future plans to tackle malnutrition in the state. 

The workshop brought forward vital issues regarding association of media and management of malnutrition in the community and how there is always scope for improvement of reporting that will encourage more efficient management of severe acute malnutrition.

Mr Ishank Gorla
Mr Ishank Gorla, PM- GAIN, shared the global scenario on malnutrition. He shared how media can play a major role to eradicate malnutrition.
Dr. Brijesh Goyal (CM&HO, Baran) shared that CMAM was successfully implemented in Baran and 9117 malnourished children were successfully treated under the CMAM program.
