FHF and Godrej Industries Ltd join hands to transform lives!

Fight Hunger Foundation has always worked towards achieving sustainable solutions for the issue of malnutrition. We have been implementing our project in Madhya Pradesh since 2012. The project was initially implemented in Khaknar block of Burhanpur district consisting 149 villages, but has now been successfully scaled up to Gandhwani block of Dhar district, covering another 144 villages, within Madhya Pradesh.

Community based Management of Acute Malnutrition in Govandi, Mumbai

estimated 1,46,000 children within the city of Mumbai are acutely under nourished (too thin for their height) of which 36,000 children suffer from Severe Acute Malnutrition and are at 9 times the risk of dying compared to a normal child. Less than 1% of children with Severe Acute Malnutrition have access to appropriate treatment.

Fight Hunger Foundation’s objective is to contribute to the reduction of acute malnutrition related mortality and morbidity in children up to five years of age. We have been conducting integrated programs on nutrition and care practices in 149 villages in Khaknar block in Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh and are soon expanding to cover five other districts-  Dhar, Panna, Sheopur, Umariya and Singroli.

16th October 2015 is World Food Day and is celebrated every year in honor of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1945, and is celebrated widely by other organisations concerned with food security, including the World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
